Smith & Wesson DA Top Break, .38 Caliber, Third Model Revolver with Rare 8” Barrel. Inscribed “H. W. Chead Company” on the butt. (Should be researched.) The 8” barrel is very rare and according to Flayderman is worth about ten times the value of 6” and shorter guns. According to the Blue Book, it is worth about $2500. as "Very Good", this is better. Has about 80% blue coverage, but has “freckles” on the barrel and slight frosting on the cylinder.. Action and bore are excellent. Functions perfectly. This gun also has the rare red grips. Antique, please send copy of DL showing age over 21 for shipment.
