RARE Smith and Wesson Model No. 1, Third Issue 1868-1882 Serial No. 116052
Description:
SMITH & WESSON MODEL No 1, THIRD ISSUE, serial no. 116052, FULL nickel plating (most of the nickel plated were nickel plated frame only with blued barrel and cylinder), and Rosewood grips, bird's head grips. This one has the long barrel, 3 3/16's and that is also a rarity. 22 short rimfire caliber. Manufacturer's marking are on the top of the barrel which is only in the Model No. 1, Third Issue. On the cylinder there is a "B" stamped and an "0."
Rare to find one of these 140 year old full nickel pocket pistols in good condition. This one has been buried in a family gunsafe for nearly 70 of those years.
Serial numbered from 1-131,163.
This pistol has some pitting as shown on the photos, bright nickel, minor scuffs onb the wood grips, but nothing through the finish, bright bore with visible rifling after 140 years!
