This is a very nice Danish Model 1772 heavy dragoon flintlock holster pistol. The overall length is approx. 20.5"". The 13"" round 70 caliber barrel has a very good smooth bore with very light erosion. It has a large brass blade front sight. The barrel is bright with light staining. It is marked in large script at the breech with what appears to be SCN 21 over a 14 with a small R inspection stamp after the 14. The 14 is repeated on the side plate. the lick is bright and unmarked with the exception of an inspection stamp that is unreadable as it is covered by the frizzen spring. The brass nose cap, trigger guard, ramrod pipes, butt cap, and side plate have an even aged patina. The stock is very good with evidence of an old sanding (the front or the lock is high) and refinish. The action functions correctly. If you like large flintlock holster pistols, this one is for you!
