----------SOLD-----------Smith & Wesson U.S. Schofield 45 S&W this is a second model manufactured between 1876 and 1877 with a total production of 5934 guns 6 shot fluted cylinder with a 7 “ barrel is gun has about 80% blue left on the frame and almost no blue on the barrel in very little on the cylinder mostly in the flutes the markings on the gun are really crisp has US stamped on the butt and it looks like somebody’s scratched in WCM in the bottom of the wood grip on the butt does have a little case color on the hammer in excellent working condition, on the wood grips it have the cartouche and the date stamped in, that’s on the left hand side of the grip on the right-hand side is just a cartouche. The Schofield revolvers were used throughout the US Calvary and in an attempt to get good side-by-side comparisons of the effectiveness and durability as compared to the Colt Single Action Army the gun saw significant service with the 4th US Calvary as well as with the 9th and 10th US Calvary regiments the (Buffalo soldiers). Serial number 5340
