Offered in a variety of calibers, submodels, and trims, there seems to be a Shield for anyone in the market for self-defense pistol. This M&P40 Shield is one of the first-generation Shields, with a slightly staggered magazine holding 6 rounds of .40 S&W in a flush-fit magazine and 7 in the extended magazine with grip extension. The pistol sports a short 3" barrel which aids in both comfort and concealment when carried inside the waistband. While the Shield series offers models without manual safeties, this unit does include a low-profile thumb safety in addition to its hinged trigger safety. The M&P40 Shield is a single action striker-fired pistol and includes a loaded chamber indicator in the top of the barrel hood and white 3-dot iron sights. This pistol does not feature an underbarrel accessory rail. Included with the pistol is the factory box, two OEM magazines (6- & 7-rounds), Galco Leather IWB suede holster, cable lock, and user manual. .40 S&W
