Serial Number V 288676 is stamped on the Butt Strap, Barrel, Cylinder and inside Right Grip. The SN dates to about February, 1943.
The Top Strap is stamped "U.S. Property" with the U.S. Army "Flaming Bomb" Ordnance Proof Mark and "G.H.D." (Brig. Gen. Guy H. Drewry) inspection stamping.
Condition
Light holster wear at the edges of the muzzle and at the front edges of the cylinder. There is a very tiny chip at the very bottom edge of the left wood grip and a few minor dings on both grips. The parkerized finish is uniform in color with a few light scratches here and there. Overall condition of the parkerized finish is about 85%-88%. The cylinder stops and locks properly. The rifling is clear and distinct. It has been in air conditioned storage for many years.
Ammunition
There are nine (9) fifty round boxes of .38 S&W factory ammunition included. No re-loads. There are 3 boxes of Remington, 2 boxes of Winchester, 2 boxes of Fiocchi and 1 box each of Magtech and PPU brands.
