Smith & Wesson Model 59 Double Action Semi Auto Pistol Custom Engraved w/ Carved Ivory Grips 9mm S&W
Description: Beautiful Smith & Wesson Model 59 double action semi-automatic pistol custom engraved by Ed Kaik. Purportedly made for and presented to the pervious owner's father who worked for Smith & Wesson as a retirement gift. I have no written documentation to support this but no reason to doubt the story. The Model 59 was only produced from 1971-1982. Excellent condition overall retaining 98% bright bluing with engine turned barrel breech and matted slide top. Carved & scrimshawed authentic elephant ivory grips are marked on the reverse "CARVED BY EKAIK". The grip carving matches the gun's engraving perfectly and is absolutely done by the same hand. The action functions flawlessly and the bore is excellent. A real showstopper! The original magazine has been permanantly modified in accordance with Connecticut state law to not accept more than 10 rounds (actually holds 9). Due to ivory restrictions this pistol will not be sold or shipped to residents of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington. No international sales. Payment to be made by check only payable to Greg Schimetschek (personal check will require extra clearance time before shipment). Selling from my personal collection and in no way affiliated with Jeremiah Johnson Trading. Ships UPS overnight insured from FFL to FFL with 3-day inspection period no disassembly or firing, must be returned in same condition as shipped, buyer pays return costs.
