Description:
Star Model B pistol in 9mmP made under contract for the German World War II military and delivered in a group of 8,000 pistols on June 14, 1944.
Standard configuration with fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight.
Left side of slide marked "F.Patr.08" followed by Star symbol and usual address reflecting Star's location in Eibar, Spain and caliber 9mm. Usual triad of Eibar proofs on the left side of the frame to include upper trigger guardwith the automatic proof repeated on the left rear of slide and the exposed barrel hood that is additionally marked Cal. 08. but marked with a "B" and the full serial number "249754". Fitted with large diamond, checkered bordered walnut grips, lanyard ring and a detachable magazine with two indicator slots on the right side and a floorplate marked "STAR". Na*i acceptance marked on the right tang with an "Eagle/WaA D20". Identically marked pistols from the same shipment are pictured in the book Star Firearms by Antaris on pages 342 and 365.
During WWII, Na*i Germany purchased approximately 25,000 Star Model Bs for military use.
Condition:
VG-EXC as re-dipped, to include the barrel, the pistol with nearly 99% of the reapplied blue, shallow erosions under the blue on the frontstrap. Hammer retaining the majority of its original color case hardened finish. Original oil-darkened grips with scattered handling marks. Original finish magazine with insertional scuffing. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics.
