Antique J. STEVENS & CO. “Old Model” TIP UP .22 Single Shot POCKET Pistol
Late CIVIL WAR Era SELF DEFENSE Pistol
Description: Antique J. STEVENS & CO. “Old Model” TIP UP .22 Single Shot POCKET Pistol Late CIVIL WAR Era SELF DEFENSE Pistol Here we present an antique J. Stevens & Company Single Shot .22 Caliber Rimfire “Tip-Up” Pistol, made circa 1864-65 with a production run between 1864 and 1886 with a total of approximately 15,000 pistols manufactured. This pistol’s serial number is three digits at “970”, making it produced very early in its production run. This pistol was an updated edition of the one the company produced beginning in 1859. This pistol was made as a single-shot pistol chambered for .22 or .30 rimfire cartridges. It was made with a 3.5" part-octagonal barrel that pivots upward for loading. Being quite similar in appearance to the original pocket pistol, it had a plated brass frame and blued or nickel-plated barrel, with rosewood two-piece grips. The barrels were marked "J. STEVENS & CO. CHICOPEE/FALLS, MASS PAT. SEPT. 6, 1864”. Overall condition is good. Strong action. The tip of the extractor spring is missing, thus it does not function. Gray patina. The bore has dimmed, but retains a light shimmer and serviceable rifling. Good grips with average scratches and dings. Strong action. Markings are legible. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-1/2 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #254043 SOLD Antique: Yes |
