BRITISH PROOFED Antique J. STEVENS & Co. NEW MODEL First Issue Pocket Rifle NICKEL PLATED BRASS FRAME & Matching Shoulder Stock!
Description: BRITISH PROOFED Antique J. STEVENS & Co. NEW MODEL First Issue Pocket Rifle NICKEL PLATED BRASS FRAME & Matching Shoulder Stock! Here we present an antique British Proofed J. Stevens & Company New Model First Issue Pocket Rifle, manufactured circa 1873 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. About 8,000 of these rifles were produced between 1872 and 1875. This pistol was considered one of the most accurate target pistols of the day and comes with the original attachable wire stock. This version is the first of the medium-frame models, with a frame width of 1". All of its predecessors have a .625" wide frame. It was chambered for .22 and .32 rimfire cartridges and was offered with barrel lengths of 10", 12", 15" or 18" that are part-octagonal in configuration. External hammer has the firing pin mounted on it. Birmingham proofs may be observed on the left side of the barrel as well as above the trigger on the frame. This one has very nice target sights as well as quick open sights. The rear features an aperture through the middle for precision with a notch on top for quick aiming. Likewise, the front features a fine post and bead globe sight with a blade on top for faster target acquisition. The overall condition is near fine. Original nickel and blue finish with a patina making up the balance. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition. This example comes with numbered matching stock. A great piece for a boy from the late-19th Century! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 10 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire Short Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1495 #20480 SOLD Antique: Yes |
