Stevens Arms Company New Model Number 40-1/2 Pocket Rifle, manufactured circa the turn of the century in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. It is similar to the Number 40, with a Vernier tang sight mounted on the backstrap. About 2,500 of these pocket rifles were produced between 1896 and 1915. This This pistol was considered one of the most accurate target pistols of the day and comes with the original attachable wire stock. It features am 10-inch bull barrel and a weighted pommel for balance. The action is single action only with a crisp trigger. The overall condition is fine. The action is strong, and the bore is bright with nice rifling. This example features a rear peep sight and matching number shoulder stock! Here we have a neat piece to supplement any collection!
