Scarce Antique Stevens Old Model Pocket Pistol 30 Short Rim Fire Tip-Up
Description: Serial #20473, .30 Short Rim Fire, 3.5 inch part octagon part round barrel with a very fine bore with spots of light roughness. This is the J. Stevens & Co. Old Model Pocket Pistol manufactured in Chicopee Falls, Mass. from 1864-1886. The little tip-up is in very good plus condition with the barrel having very good two line marking and is mostly a mottled pewter gray. The brass frame shows the original silver plate on the small side plate with the balance a very pleasing mellow brass patina. The original rosewood grips rate excellent and are numbered to the gun. Mechanically it locks up tight with the hammer holding at half and full cock with a strong spring and crisp trigger pull. A very good example of these neat little pistols. Antique SOLD |
