SUPERB CONDITION SCARCE STEVENS CONLIN No. 38 2ND ISSUE, .22LR, 10” TARGET PISTOL, #20XXX, MADE 1884-1903. Only about 6,000 of these fine pistols were made and they rarely show up these days. This is the best one I’ve ever seen.  It also has an interesting .22LR chamber that lightly engraves the bullet when fully seated- no doubt a "match chamber" for maximum accuracy (S&W chambered some of its last single shot .22 target pistols this way). It retains all the bright nickel on the frame and trigger guard with spur, The barrel shows about all the blue with perhaps a tiny bit of age thinning/wear that you’d have to look closely to notice. Checkered walnut grips are excellent with very sharp checkering. Blade/bead front sight with small buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact. “J. STEVENS A. & T. CO. CHICOPEE FALLS MASS. U.S.A.” Marked in two lines on the rear left octagon side of the barrel. Exc. screws and matching number on the barrel side (inside) and on the inner bottom of the trigger guard. Exc. blue on the trigger and hammer, tight action with strong safety half-cock, and minty bright bore. I don’t think this one could be improved upon.
