Steyr Match FP-1, complete
Description: Pair of Steyr FP-1 Match Free Pistols, complete. One is with the original OEM Rink laminated grips right and left handed. The other is with the original OEM Morini RH grip, also marked Match as was done when the Morini (or Rink) grips were sold with the guns. Also included are the weight bars, three weights for each gun, OEM cases with straps for each gun, user manuals in German (original with test targets) and in English, the original tool kits, some spare parts, additional optional trigger shoes, a left hand Rink grip also marked Match (Steyr OEM), and an XL size Rink grip (size 12). The OEM muzzle brakes are included, attached to the guns. FP-1 production was limited to (approximately) 1000 guns, all assembled by one person, who currently is the director of their sports (air guns) section. For this reason, some (but limited) support still is available from Steyr for these guns. The guns are extermely accurate. They use an incredibly low barrel position, which requires a high front sight level. With separate breech and trigger cocking mechanisms, the guns can be dry fired for practice. Considerably more durable than the MC-55-1 from Baikal/Vostok/Toz, their construction is not quite as durable as the Pfuff guns (also offered). Their accuracy unadjusted is less than the Pfuff, but when the weights are used to remove or reduce the effects of vibration on the aim point, they can be made as accurate as the Pfuff (and MC-55-1). These effects of vibration can be seen in the test targets, as oscillations between two aim points. Offered as a set due to the array of spare parts and the potential utility of one one as spart parts for the other. The cases are OEM and original to the guns, but are Italian in origin, and not actually made by Steyr. The Morini grip has been recut slightly. A third, aftermarket tuning weight system is included that uses a round bar with one cylindrical weight. In actual use, these guns are extremely accurate, durable, and in all honesty, a lot of fun in appropriate settings. In comparison to the Finnmasters also offered, these guns use a somewhat similar reversed hammer for less movement of the gun on firing and fast ignition, but do not use the fully enclosed grip design of the Finnmaster, have a lighter barrel, and use an integral muzzle brake which includes the front sight. Like the Finnmaster, the ignition time is very fast due to the hammer-transfer system design. The Pfuff guns offered include versions that use the countervibration bar, but on all Pfuff, the trigger mechanism and much of the hammer mechanism are in the grip or frame of the gun. The Pfuff design is simplier and therefore more reliable, however, than on the FP-1. Overall accuracy of the Finnmater and Pfuff are slightly better, unless tuning weights are adjusted precisely. If that is done, they are equal in accuracy for the gun itself excluding the difference in effect of the full-surround, thumhole grip that the Finnmaster uses.
