The Taurus PT99 AF is a full-size, semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, produced by the Brazilian manufacturer Taurus. It is closely based on the Beretta 92 series but incorporates several distinct features. The “AF" designation indicates that the pistol uses an ambidextrous frame-mounted safety rather than the slide-mounted safety found on the Beretta, allowing for both safe and cocked-and-locked (single-action) carry positions.
