G1 Thompson Contender pistol with two 14" barrels, case, optics, and reloading dies
Description:
Blued steel first generation Thompson Contender pistol with a ported 7-30 Waters 14" blued steel barrel fitted with a Picatinny rail scope mount and a Barska red dot sight, a 223 Remington 14" blued steel barrel also fitted with a Picatinny rail scope mount and a Barska red dot sight. Includes 7-30 Waters RCBS full lenth sizing reloading dies, original iron sights for one barrel, and a vintage locking gun guard case (no keys!).
A brief description:
The firing mechanism has dual, frame-mounted firing pins — one for rimfire cartridges and one for centerfire rounds. A hammer-mounted firing pin selector allows either type of cartridge to be fired. The target-type trigger is 0.42 inch wide, and it's adjustable for letoff and overtravel. Switching barrels on the Thompson/Center Contender is fast and easy. Simply remove the fore-end, push out the hinge pin, switch barrels, and reassemble. The action breaks open by pulling rearward on the back of the trigger guard spur. When the action opens, an automatic extractor pops the cartridge up where it can be manually removed. The action must be opened to cock the Thompson/Center Contender.
