ENGRAVED VOLCANIC LARGE FRAME NO. 2 PISTOL WITH CASE

Custom engraved Large Frame No. 2 Volcanic lever action pistol has the rare 6 inch octagon barrel chambered in 41 caliber "Rocket Ball". This was self contained ammunition. Good bore with shine and visible rifling with just a few scattered light pits. Sights include a pinched post front with a fixed notch rear. Barrel is mostly a brown patina with a good barrel address. Brass frame has been refinished with a silver plating and custom engraved with scroll work and an eagle on each side panel in the style of Nimschke after it was manufactured. Ivory grips are sound and fit well. About 1,250 of these were manufactured between 1855-1857. Also included is a custom mahogany case with an engraved eagle on the plaque that is the same as on the pistol. Case lining is in good condition. Not a bad looking set that will display well.
