Seller's Inventory #: PR57118
This interesting 7.65mm Walther PP is listed by serial number, 303786P, in the book Walther Models PP and PPK 1929 - 1945 by James L. Rankin. It is listed on page 90 as a Walther Model PP with Waffenampt marks. However, this pistol does NOT have Waffenampt acceptance marks. The 3 7/8"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun has approx. 98% wartime blue finish over a lightly machined surface. Later guns had a much rougher surface. The left side of the slide has the standard Walther banner followed by the Zella-Mehlis address and caliber and Mod, PP. The right side of the frame and slide have the serial number. The chamber, barrel, and slide have the commercial eagle over N proof marks. The gun is equipped with the extended plastic base magazine. The checkered black plastic grips with the Walther banner are fine with light wear. The rear grip strap is stamped 9, the meaning of which is unknown to us. The action functions correctly. This documented fine example of a wartime commercial PP pistol is ready for any WWII pistol collection.
