This is a very nice example of a Walther-made, "ac 44"-coded P.38, manufactured in the "L" block. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38, "5867 L" and "ac 44". The right is marked with two eagle over "359" waffenamts and an eagle / swastika between them. The left of the frame is marked "5867 k" and with eagle over "359" waffenamt above the trigger guard. The front face of the barrel assembly is marked "5867 / k" and the left is marked with an eagle over WaA "76" waffenamt at the front and FNH on the bottom. The right of the locking block is marked with eagle over "359" waffenamt, the left with eagle / swastika proof, the bottom with "8017 / L". The front sight is a dovetailed blade marked "4" on the left. The rear sight is a "U"-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The grips are AEG two-piece serrated brown synthetic panel. This is the 2nd variation Walther grips, with six groves broken by the grip screw. The top one is relatively short. They are marked in the bottom circle with P 1528. This has two 8 round magazines and both are marked on the spine with an eagle over "359". They also are and both marked on the left side "P38 V" and one "P38 V /U". The holster is in great condition and marked on the back left side "cey / 4 / eagle / swastika proof / 1920 or 920", and P38 on the right. 9mm Parabellum
