Walther 1925 Olympia, Standard Configuration, DOCUMENTED, A-1057
Description: Standard configuration Walther Olympia with adjustable front and drift rear sight having 7.5 barrel. Usual Walther markings on left and right sides of slide. Triple set of Crown/N proofs on right side of slide, barrel and frame. No import markings. Checkered wood grips. Each panel marked with the thin Walther banner as usually applied to salesman sample items. Magazine is numbered “363” with pinned unmarked base. THIS EXACT PISTOL, OWNED BY WARREN BUXTON AND WHITE HIGHLIGHTED FOR HIS UPCOMING BOOK, WAS PREVIOUSLY PICTURED ON PAGE 91 OF WALTHER VOLUME II BY JAMES L. RANKIN AND DESCRIBED ON PAGE 89 AS A “SPECIAL STOEGER MODEL”. Synopsis: Well documented Walther Olympia M1925, standard pattern with original magazine, beautifully restored, with salesman sample markings, pictured in the RANKIN BOOK OF WALTHER PISTOLS. Condition: Crisp, excellent condition as professionally restored with negligible sharp edge wear/handling marks. Front sight and extractor are salt blued. VG grips, cracked in usual location by safety, with deeply cut checkering. Near excellent, original condition magazine. Mirror bright bore with strong rifling. Slide is sluggish to return when magazine is inserted, needing a gentle push for full closure. Manual mechanics otherwise perfect. A very well documented Walther Olympia, especially nice with the Walther markings on each grip. C&R.
