This Walther P38, manufactured in 1941, is an original finish German WWII military pistol chambered in 9mmP, with a 5” barrel, drift adjustable front sight, and matching serial numbers except for magazine.
Description:
Standard configuration Walther P38 Pistol, made in 1941, cal: 9mmP, having 5” barrel with drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Stacked address on the left side of slide that includes the model, “ac” manufacturers code, the date “41” and the full serial number, that is also repeated on the left frame and under the barrel. Safety positions marked with a white highlighted “S” and a red highlighted “F”. The right side of slide with the usual three acceptances, two of which were applied after bluing. Disassembly shows a matching locking block. Fitted with the correct plastic brown grips. Blued magazine with a double accepted spine, “P.38” on the left side, and floorplate whose toe is numbered “8042d”.
Condition:
VG original salt blue finish with holster wear in the usual places as one might expect from a pistol that likely served throughout World War II. Comparable condition frontstrap and magazine with no suggestion of touch up. VG grips with handling marks but no cracks or splits. Etched bore with easily discernible rifling, similar to exterior. Correct manual mechanics. A nice no-excuse Walther P38 made in 1941 with an era-correct magazine.
