This pistol is an example of a limited edition of 500 pistols commissioned by the American Historical Foundation in honor of the British Secret Intelligence Service. Traditional acorn-and-oakleaf with dot engraving covers most surfaces, all hand cut using traditional hammer-and-chisel method. This PPK is number 059 and is marked as such on the trigger guard and accompanying Certificate of Authenticity. In the center of the upper left side of the slide is a crown and on the right side of the slide is a small banner marked "1909" below and to the rear of the ejector port. Ahead of the ejector port is as banner reading "HER MAJESTY'S SECRET INTELLIGENCE SERVICE" with the iconic British flag in the center. The grips are custom made faux ivory, embellished in relief with the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom and the legend MI-6 (there is a small chip at the top of the left grip). Produced to celebrate the British Intelligence agency and the most iconic of the fictional spies, James Bond. The early James Bond adventures are grounded in reality- its creator, Ian Fleming, served in British Naval Intelligence and worked with the British Secret Intelligence Service, known as "MI6". It was James Bond's frequent use of the Walther PPK that helped make this pistol famous: Agent 007 was first issued his in the 1962 film Dr. No. The PPK and PPK/S is well known as a favorite for personal defense worldwide. Two Walther magazines are supplied with the pistol. The “Crown Jewel” for any Walther collection, this PPK is ready for its next mission.
