Description: c1913 British WEBLEY & SCOTT Single Shot .22 LR Long Rifle TARGET Pistol C&R W&S LTD .22 Pistol “MADE IN ENGLAND” Here we present a British Webley & Scott 2nd Model Target Pistol made circa 1913 in Birmingham, England. Webley & Scott is an arms manufacturer founded in Birmingham, England, who produced handguns and long guns from 1834 to 1979. This is a single shot target pistol or a typical parlor pistol with a tip-down barrel activated by pushing the trigger guard forward/down to open and load. You will observe the serrations on the inside of the trigger guard that indicate this. The rear target sight is adjustable and similar to the ones found on the Stevens single shot pistol. The grip frame was also machined in order to accept a detachable stock that would have turned with large, single shot .22 pistol into a handy and small .22 single shot rifle/carbine. The right side of the frame has the Webley & Scott logo and the barrel is stamped “Made in England”. The left side of frame is stamped “Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham” and “.22 Rim Fire Long Rifle”. The overall condition is very good. Original blue finish. The action is excellent with a crisp single action trigger. This example has maintained a bright and reflective bore with great rifling. The grip is a single solid piece of walnut with expected wear on the checkering. Here is a great little plinking, target, or vermin-hunting pistol! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
