Crvena Zastava ~ M70-1 ~ .32 Auto
Description: The Zastava M70-1 is a popular milsurp pistol for collectors and users alike. The Yugoslavian automatic is a steel-framed single-action hammer-fired pistol that was originally developed in 1970 for police and military officers. The pistol can be chambered in either 9mm Kurz (.380 Auto/ACP) or in 7.65 Browning (.32 Auto/ACP)—the latter being more proliferous. The M70 pistol derives much of its design from its larger older brother, the Zastava M57 "Tokarev" pistol, chambered in 7.62x25 Tokarev. Thus, the pistol features a push-button magazine release, both a thumb safety and magazine disconnect, exposed hammers, and plastic grips. The M70, being chambered in lower-pressured cartridges, operates on a simple blowback design, however, compared to the Tokarev's locked-breech design. Even with a blowback operation, however, the heavy steel frame and slide help the pistol retain a low recoil impulse. The M70 is popular in Europe, particularly in Serbia, where it is affectionally nicknamed the "Pcelica," or "little bee." The pistol features a 3.6" barrel and feeds 8 rounds from the single-stack magazine. The pistols sights are very basic, with a simple fixed front sight and dovetailed rear sight that have no markings. The triggers function similar to a 1911, with no hinged or pivoting design, but overall action and trigger feel can vary a lot from one unit to the next. When inspecting the parts, it is obvious that the pistols have not been built like a luxury item and functionality is foremost. This particular piece is in very good condition with a clean and bright barrel & bore and good bluing on the frame and slide. The trigger has a very short takeup but fairly heavy but crisp break with some overtravel. Slide action is not the smoothest, but isn't as hard to cycle as some other units. The pistol does have several electropenciled parts that have matching numbers, indicating the pistol is likely all-original. This pistol's manufacture date is unknown, as the date code on the bottom of the grip has been largely worn away. The M70-1 includes one 8-round magazine and a generic box. .32 ACP SOLD Barrels: 3.6 Weight: 1 lb 10 oz Item Location: Kearney, NE |
