PARKER BROTHERS 10 GAUGE QUALITY ONE SXS HAMMER TOPLEVER SPORTING GUN SN 5473. 30 1/4 inch Damascus barrels with matted top rib marked PARKER BROTHERS MAKERS, MERIDAN CONN. LAMINATED STEEL with broad arrows. Case hardened bar-action with some floral engraving. Fish tail toplever. Checkered pistol grip highly figured crotch grain American Walnut stock with original hard rubber DOGS HEAD buttplate marked PARKER BROTHERS.
Condition: Fine. Barrels show 60-70% original browning. Bright bores. Action shows 30-40% original bright case colors which are vivid in protected ares. Locks and toplever shows 98% vivid colors. Triggerguard shows 90% bluing starting to turn brown. Wood shows light handling marks and well defined checkering. Checkered splinter forend with Anson and Deeley latch and engraved steel tip.
Barrel dimensions: Chokes 0.027/0.027 inches Improved Modified in both. Chambers: 2 7/8. Stock dimensions: Pull 14 1/4 inch Drop at comb: 1 7/8 inch. Drop at heel: 3 inch. Weight 9 lbs.

THIS GUN WAS PRODUCED IN 1887 AND SHIPPED ON SEPTEMBER 10, 1888. QUALITY ONE AND SO MARKED "1" ON THE WATER TABLE. THIS IS THE ONLY QUALITY ONE AND SO MARKED AS IS KNOWN TO EXIST!
