Brass twisted wire present wrapped wood grip, wound with cord & wrapped with leather (all missing). Iron scabbard missing. Manufactured by William Glaze & Co. at the Palmetto Armory & closely conforms to the Model 1840 U.S. Heavy Cavalry Saber. Glazes contract dated April 15, 1851 called for the manufacture of 1,000 of these along with other arms. Condition: Good to Excellant overall with nice even patina. SOLD |
