Liege, Belgium: A 12 Bore Boxlock Damascus Barreled Game Gun with Full Length 20 Bore Briley Insert Tubes, The 12 Bore Belgium Royal Damascus barrels are 27" extractor dovetail lump with rib extension cross bolt at .719 .000 & .000 (Cyl. & Cyl.), 2 1/2" chambers, The wall thickness on the right barrel at .034" & the left at .034", The 20 Bore Briley inserts tubes are 27" with 4 each Briley chokes at Skt. I - Imp.Cyl. - Mod. & Imp.Mod., 2 3/4" chambers, Double triggers, Splinter forend, Open pistol grip stock at 14 5/8 x 1 5/8 x 2 7/8" over a 1" pad, Neutral stock for the right or left hand, 6 lbs. 14 oz. with the Briley 20 Bore tubes and 6 lbs. 5 oz. as a 12 Bore, This piece has 30% coverage of well cut engraving. The barrels retain 80% original browning with excellent damascus pattern remaining, 10% original case colors, The wood is very sound both fore & aft at 92% with what I believe is the original stock finish, Here is a damn tough pre-war Belgium 12 Bore game gun that can still be shot as a 12 with the proper loads and shot all day long as a 20 Bore. The bores on the 12 are very good; it is tight to the face and very mechanically sound gun. //////////////////// Neumann & Co. were already making guns in the 1890's and was still around well after WWII as many of you have seen their modern 10 Bore shotguns that were fairly common in the U. S. The early guns were sold by Hartley & Graham in New York in the late 19th century and then Schoverling, Daly & Gales handled their line in the early years of the 20th century.
