E. - ONE TOUGH DOUBLE - CHAMPLIN INFLUENCE from the 1980's - STOUT but ATTRACTIVE - Webley Long Bar Type Action - A Real 11 Lbs. 12 Oz. - 14 1/2" LOP - 25" Ejector Chopper Lump Barrels - 1995 - Extended Top Strap /////////////////////// #1148, A Tough and Stout Double Rifle Built the Way a Pre-War British Double Webley Was Made: It is a Abbiatico & Salvinelli Famars (Champlin Design & Influence) 470 Nitro Express Boxlock Ejector Model Africa Express Double Rifle Made 1995 with 25” Ejector Chopper Lump barrels, 1/4 Rib with 1 standing & 1 folding with a gold sight line, Dolls Head Extension with a third bite, Fold-up night sight with a over sized bead, Long Bar Webley Type Action body, Bushed strikers, Double triggers with an articulated front trigger, Extended top tang over the comb of the stock, Locking safety slide with a spring plunger to keep it secure either on or off, Locking screws on key screws, Extended trigger guard tang to the trap door grip cap, Rolled trigger guard edge for the right hand, Swing lever lock forend release that is strong & very practical, Slim beavertail forend, 14 1/2" LOP over a 1" Silvers pad, Cast-Off for the right hand, The proper & real big bore weight of 11 lbs. 12 oz. which speaks well of its size & toughness built into this piece, 20% engraving coverage by Gianmarco Sabatti and signed; It has 5 locking screws retaining 5 key screws on the action, forend and trigger guard, A very nice piece of European walnut with excellent grain layout for strength & durability, This piece remains in 96% original condition, The bores are like new, It is cased in the maker’s leather trunk with paper work & trade label. I personally was behind Abbiatico & Salvinelli first building this rifle and I wanted a modern day Webley Long Bar Action. This is as good as it gets relative a current and modern double rifle. This piece is flat out one solid rifle with proper weight, toughness, large 470 size action body and it will stand the test of time.
