Description:

This cannon is a scale (1/13) replica of the famous 24-pounder used on the main gun deck of the U.S.S. Constitution "Old Ironsides". Barrel length is 9" and its largest diameter, at the breech, is 1.580" (a little less than 1 5/8"). The barrel is precision turned from brass bar stock and is bored and reamed to .38 caliber. The carriage is constructed of oiled American black walnut. The length of the carriage, from the tip of the er to the back, is 5 3/4". The axles measure 3 7/8" from tip to tip. The overall length of the assembled cannon (barrel and carriage) is 9 3/16". All of the hardware is solid brass. The cannon assembly weighs 3.36 lbs. Though the seller will not accept any liability for an accident brought on by the firing of this piece, others of this same construction have been fired using .38 caliber lead balls and black powder charges appropriate for the caliber. It is truly a "high end" replica for your den, office, or the range. One of these cannons now resides on the desk of the newly commisioned commander of the U.S.S. Constitution docked in the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, MA. Everything about this product says "precision". MADE IN AMERICA ... as it should be. Price includes packaging, shipping (USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate) and insurance.
