A.J. AUBREY, (Meriden Firearms) Engraved double 12 gauge Hammer shotgun. Part of my Double Gun Journal article Summer 2005 on Meriden Firearms. Beautiful original case colors with superb Twist pattern on barrels, Nice wood and checkering with a small sliver of wood missing on the right side of the lock which is easily seen by my picture of that area. A good stock man can repair that with little effort and expense.These guns were made in the same town as Parker Brothers and the engraving has the same look on their birds. I am persuaded they were engraved by the same engravers.This is the best Aubrey engraved hammer gun in existence in my opinion. !2 Gauge 30 inch twist barrels. Very high original condition and mechanical function. Monogramed Meriden Firearms butt plate. In my opinion these early Twist and Damascus guns should not be hunted with but kept for future generations to admire!
