Description:
Ithaca, Very rare Special order 12 gauge double, Grade 4 with German Krupp fluid steel barrels shipped to Trap Shooter Ned Painter on December 4th, 1915. This rare gun and historical information are part of my Double Gun Journal Article Spring 1998. Serial number 266381 is listed in the Factory Special order book with special features of a Carved Cheek piece stock, Krupp 26 inch barrels choked 4 & 0 with factory Infallable single selective trigger and auto ejectors. The Ithaca 1915 Factory catalogue listed the Infallable single trigger as "the only single trigger we use". That changed a couple of years later when the Miller single trigger was brought into service. I am including pictures of the Factory Special order page signifing these options and a trigger breakdown photo. This gun is a one of a kind for the advanced Double or Ithaca collector. It has the beautiful Early style engraving by Factory engraver, Edward Laythem in his last year at Ithaca Gun Company. It has been used but it remains in very collectable condition. It has been a part of my personal collection for many years. It is portrayed in the Double Gun Journal Index and reader as one of my favorite guns.
THERE IS ONLY ONE LIKE THIS GUN AND IT IS SUITABLE FOR THE MOST ADVANCED COLLECTOR.
