Best Italian Bar Action Sidelock Ejector Game Gun in 28 Bore made in 1980 that remains in Excellent Plus condition, 27" Chopper Lump barrels at 14.2mm = .558 .014 & .016 (Mod. & Imp.Mod.), 2 3/4" chambers, KG 0.960 weight barrels, Matted concave top rib, Single non-selective trigger, Rolled trigger guard edge for the right hand, Slight beavertail forend with an Anson release, Straight hand at 13 7/8 x 1 3/8 x 1 3/4" over a full face checkered butt, It will go 14 7/8" with a 1" pad, 5 lbs. 7 oz., 99% coverage of fine scroll engraving on a case colored frame, Carved fences and a carved frame, It has a very nice piece of European Walnut with excellent color & contrast; This piece has 6 retainer screws which secure key screws on the lockplates, toplever, barrels, trigger guard tang and forend iron, The metal remains in 98-99% factory original condition, The wood & checkering at 99%. The gun is cased in a very nice leather trunk. This gun has a mate in 410 Bore that is numbered consecutive to this piece and is virtually identical in every respect. These guns were bought in the early 1980's, never used and put away until recently. They both remain as new and represent a very strong value relative to Italian sidelock best guns that can be bought for less than current boxlocks. Leonard Puccinelli imported a lot of nice Italian guns in the 1980's & 90's. He was in San Anselmo, California when this was imported. Puccinelli was a designer and importer of high-grade shotguns; he won more than 100 national and international shooting competitions.
