Francotte Maker & Patentee, London: Von Lengerke & Detmold, U.S. Agents New York: Auguste Francotte Sideplate 12 Bore Made for Von Lengerke & Detmold in New York with 26" Ejector Damascus barrels with rib extension cross bolt, The bores at .718" in the right barrel & .726" in the left, Chokes at .000 & .015" (Cyl. & Mod.), 2 1/2" chambers, Forcing cones professionally opened, Wall thickness on the right and left at .034", Deeleys Patent #589 Ejector system, Sideplates, Side clip action body, Double triggers, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Open pistol grip stock at 14 1/4 x 1 3/8 x 2 1/8" over a horn buttplate, Excellent wood with excellent color & contrast, Very neat game gun weight at 5 lbs. 15 oz., 45% engraving coverage with deep chiseled engraving on the balls of the action & "Von Lengerke & Detmold New York" on the rib, This piece appears totally original from stem to stern except the forcing cones, It retains 10% case colors with a very nice patina, The barrel brown is 85%, The stock has been oiled & remains now at 94%, The checkering remains at 97%, The bores are excellent plus and totally free of any pits or blemishes, It is tight to the face and overall a very solid gun. This is a very nice game gun with great 12 bore weight and excellent wall thickness with barrels that are superb inside & out.
