Description: Winchester Model 70 Pre War 30-06 Griffin & Howe Custom. The action on this rifle is very tight with a Lyman 48 and a blind screw G&H sidemount. The bolt is jewelled in the period style used to retain oil and the ball is a Griffin two panel. The scope is a very clean Hensolt fixed power scope. The scope is cased in a period Heiser style belt carrying case. The bore is very strong, 24" barrel and there is a blank in the rear with the original hooded front sight. The barrel markings are very clear and the barrel blue is 50% with some loss ahead of the chamber on the top of the barrel. The stock is a very nicely figured, original with a Shelhamer applied cheek piece and finish by the same. This is a nice period rifle and would be hard to duplicate today for three times the price. 8lbs 7oz. 084041 BV $3900.00 SOLD |
