Description:
This is a magnificent J.D. Dougall 12bore double, bar action, best English, top lever, hammer gun from the late 19th century. It is in like new condition with full case hardening colors on the action and full coverage game scene and scroll engraving, not often found. The action is rather unusual in that it is rounded and quite beautiful with ornate percussion style fences unlike the typical ones of that period with sharp corners on the bottom edges. Exqui John Stanton best quality rebounding locks. The 30” barrels are beautiful nitro proof Damascus with 2 1/2” chambers and perfect bores. The beautifully figured stock is like new with a checkered horn butt plate and crisp checkering.  This is a truly unique best gun with features not often found on guns of this period and in fabulous shooting condition.
