Description:

An original Morris's cloth and cardboard wrapper of 100 297/230 cartridges. These shells were used in a Morris No. 4 Tube, which was an insert placed in the barrel of a Lee Metford or Lee Enfield rifle, thereby allowing the 19th Century soldier to begin his preliminary firing exercises using a small caliber cartridge. Eventually these Morris Tubes and Morris cartridges were advertised to the English civilian population as, "A bit of sport with your Service Rifle". This packet with its' original string wrapping is as it came from the Kynoch factory over 110 years ago.
