Description:
FINE SPANISH CUCILLO DE MONTE PLUG BAYONET DATED 1859. 14” o/a with 9” double edged blade which is chased and engraved overall and engraved in a cartouche on the ricasso with the Spanish Royal Crest. The obverse of the ricasso is engraved “FABA. D. TOLEDO 1859”. Turned, straight steel guard and quillons. Finely turned horn grip. Excellent condition overall. Although in plug bayonet form these were carried as hunting daggers and the finest were made en suite with sporting guns. Possibly the work of the Zuloaga Factory at Toledo.
