This is a very rare METROPOLITAN POLICE revolver by Maltby, Curtiss & Co. in .32 rimfire. Very unique, it is a solid frame, it looks like a top break, but the toogle looking device on top does not pull up, it slides forward. It is it's safety feature, when pulled back it won't allow hammer to be pulled, when pushed forward it allows hammer to be cocked. Cylinder pin is released by pushing the round button on left side that has screw in it. Grips are unbelieveable. They are in great shape, no chips or cracks. Very ornate. Has Maltby Curtiss insignia in circle. And has everything on grips...fish, sailboats, flamingo's spades etc. Has 85% to 90% original nickel, having discolored areas where nickel is missing as shown in pics. Mainly on cylinder and trigger guard, some on frame by grips. Still has some case color on hammer. Works well in single and double action. You have to push trigger back, must need spring.
