Description:
This is a dark blue canvasbelt with 45 cartridge loops and a later style cast brass H plate with "US" in oval on the center. The cloth is in fine shape with a very small amount of dye fading but is still intact and the cartridge loops (correctly woven into the belt itself using Mills' patented process and not sewn on afterward) are complete. The brass plate and other fittings are in very good shape with a dark, mustard yellow patina and some light tool marks on the back of the plate. The loops contain 44 rounds of U.S. military .30-40 Krag (which fit nicely in the .45 caliber loops); most are in very good-fine condition but there is some visible corrosion on a few of the cartridges. This is a fine turn-of-the-20th century militia belt overall.
