you are currently looking at a 1851 navy revolver in .36 cal. this is a very nice historical piece with all original all matching SN numbers this gun is in excellent condition, all cylinders lock up very tight the bore appears to be in good condition and no pits are found anywhere on the gun. The grip is in remarkable condition the rest of the exterior is about 80%... Good honest Colt. The serial number is 109763 which proves that it was made in New York USA. the cylinder has a light engraving of battle ships which is proof of its authenticity. The engraving depicts the battle between Texas and the Mexican navies and still barely visible on the edge of the cylinder is the words "engaged 16 may 1843". This revolver was manufactured before 1860 as can be noted by the left side of the trigger guard does not depict the caliber this gun is chambered in. Also colts patent is stamped on the left front side of the frame. This is an outstanding piece of American history that has been in service with American armed forces.
