#91234, Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf a/n: A Kurz (K) Short Action Round Top Commercial Mauser Sporter Best Grade Type A in 6.5 x 54K Mauser That Remains Totally Original, Made in 1924 with a 22” barrel, 5 leaf Type A express sights, Barrel band sling eye, Band ramp front sight, Original sight protector, Correct pear shaped bolt handle, Single trigger, Hinged floorplate with an outside swing lever release, A knurled receiver ring, The Type A stock with very nice color and contrast, No cheekpiece, Bakelite type grip cap, Sling eye on the buttstock line, Horn forend tip, Wrap around point pattern checkering on the grip & forend, A nice piece of wood with nice contrast, Every serial number everywhere matches including the stock, 14 3/4" LOP over a horn buttplate with lateral serrations, Only 6 Lbs. 9 Oz., The original blue remains at 84-86%, The original stock finish at 80% with scattered handling & hunting marks but it is all there with solid wood and free of any cracks, The checkering is at 90%, This small classic remains in extremely solid condition in every respect. The bore is excellent but not excellent plus and has a lifetime of shooting ahead just as it did 89 years ago when it left the banks of the Neckar River. This is a nice Commercial Mauser Type A with a Kurz action in a very neat cartridge. Roughly 7500 K models were made at Oberndorf out of 127,000 commercial actions, barreled actions and complete sporting rifles up to 1946.
