Description:
This is a wartime drum with "hqu 43" code on the back cover (Markes & Co., K.-G., Metallwarenfabrik und Apparatebau, L'denscheid) which retains about 40-50% of the original dark green painted finish which has flaked to reveal brown and gray underlying metal. The sliding cover, folding handle lock, and rear cover latch are fully functional as is the interior spring plate. This is both a fine piece of World War II German militaria and a useful accessory for an MG.34 or MG.42.
