This 3rd Model 54 Bore Double Action Tranter percussion pistol is in excellent condition. It appears to have seen little use. The action and indexing are crisp, the lands and grooves are deep. The checkering on the wooden grip shows no chips or splits. The Tranter markings are present on both the frame and loading lever. A powerful sidearm built between 1874 and 1878. From the Gerwitz collection. The mahogany case has the original elegant William Moore & Grey label. The accessories included are the correct Tranter 54 Bore mold, Tranter lubricating patches and bullets, oil bottle, Dixon powder flask, two ebony handled turnscrews, F. Joyce percussion caps and ebony handle cleaning rod. It even has the original key.
