this pistol is chambered for the .44-40 black powder cartridge, as stated on top of the barrel; FOR .44 WINCHESTER CARTRIDGE. the action works good on D.A, and S.A. and the 6" barrel has an excellent bore, and high front blade sight. Metal is a smooth blue fading, and turning to grey.Side of barrel is stated: BELGIUM, and the grips are a wider type replacement, looks like a S&W style. Oddly the base plate removes with a ring holding it onto the frame, this keeps the walnut grips in place. Very professionally done but not original to the gun! Has Belgium proofs on the frame.
