Hollis (Isaac) Double Rifle in 577 2 3/4" Nitro Express Made with 25" Extractor Shoe Lump Barrels with a Rib Extension cross bolt, It has 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Original Birmingham proof at 90 Cordite with a 750 grain bullet, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, 25% coverage of period scroll engraving that remains sharp, 15" LOP over a 1" pad, 11 lbs. 10 oz., No case colors remain but it retains a nice patina, The barrels were reblacked and now retain 98% blue, The buttstock and forend were replaced by an absolute professional and have every trapping of being done in England or by London Guns in Australia as their label is in the case, London Guns knows what's going on plus they know right from wrong, This wood will go into the next century as it is as solid as new, A shadowline cheekpiece, Sling eyes, Engraved steel grip cap. The strong point on this gun is twofold; the bores are excellent with sharp and square rifling the entire way with very light burn about 4-5" ahead of the chambers and then the wood will last a lifetime. The whole is cased in a very nice brass cornered leather trunk with an original trade label and a nice compliment of accessories. This is a very accurate rifle. /////////////////////////// Isaac Hollis & Sons was established in 1814 and had London offices from 1870 to 1911. In 1930 they were on 16 & 17 Loveday Street and were still around in name up to 1953 as Hollis Bentley & Playfair.
