Description:
Plain gun in excellent mechanical condition by a top English maker, on a treble screw grip action with disc-set firing pins and non-auto safety. Excellent engraved and timed screws with fresh fire blue. Bbls are 26"x 2 9/16" steel with nice swamped game rib. Original NP for 1 oz. Bores are bright with v light pitting, in proof with generous walls, R .666/646 (strong mod) wall .037; L .665/.628 (Full) wall .039. Decent original English walnut stock with English grip and no visible cracks. Forend with Purdey release. Strong original checkering, partially gunked. Initials (small) VSDH impressed in wood on LHS of buttstock, can be easily removed. LOP 14 5/8" to lined butt, drops 1 3/8" and 2 1/4" with 1/2" cast off. Recent rejointing, reblack of bbls (some very fine residual pitting remains), floorplate, and trigger bow. Action internals cleaned and lubed. Ready to go afield.
