Unusual 1895 Mauser carbine with a turned down bolt, and a 18 1/2" barrel, with sling bands installed long ago. SN 3588, and floor plate numbered 88 also. Receiver is mostly blue, that's fading, rest of gun is a heavy brown patina, and European walnut looks good with precise hand checkering. Bore has decent rifling but pitting in the grooves, and doesn't have a cleaning rod.Stock marked: O.V.S P C 147 I understand that this was a Police issued gun. this gun came from a military arms collection.
