Description:
A very crude 19 inch machete with 14 inch blade showing grind and file marks with "421" in diamond, "A.H. MK 1" and "M.1L. 45" stampings on right side. Left shows "SA" and "358" stamps. The dark wood grips show an indecipherable cartouche. Handles are held by two rivets. The very well made scabbard is marked "CA 1945" and "C Broadarrow 390". Base of belt loop is stamped "13". Machete and scabbard are in excellent condition. Ref: "British and Commonwealth Military Knives", Flook at page 200. The blade reflects the condition of usage in the WWII Burma Theater of Operations.
