Description:
A unique Colt tool for the serious Colt or Woodsman collector, this is a factory tool for building the right grip panel for the U.S. Government contract Woodsmans or the match target pistols. The block is dated May 27 1943 with Inspector initials "R.D.S.", contract no. or inventory no. "9551" and an additional inspector's initials "R.H.". The weight of this block is 4.60 pounds. A great piece for display and a less than common item due to the fact that the majority of tools of this type were probably sent out for scrap at the end of WWII or with model changes.
