Description:
Personal gun of Frank Pachmayr Recently discovered magazine photos attribute this spectacular model 21 to Frank Pachmayr Originally leaving Winchester 12/1949 as Skeet grade, Vent Rib 28” with WS-1 and WS-2 chokes, Non Automatic safety, selective trigger, ejectors, checkered butt, then returned 10/52 for additional set of barrels that are Vent rib 30” Full x Full. The work order shows installation of new sights and recoil pad at that time. Now it gets interesting, this gun has been extensively engraved, jeweled and inlaid, the rear of the frame has been scalloped and it has been restocked in English walnut with a checkered butt. Cased in a fitted English made leather case with a Purdey oil bottle, Greener snap caps, and two piece cleaning rod. While the engraver is unknown, the work is impeccable and speaks for itself in execution. Done in medium relief game scene panels that have raised borders with gold and silver inlays flowing flawlessly into stunning leaf and scroll in fill work containing inlayed and gold geometric shapes, coverage is 100%. The gold ducks, dog, pheasants, and grouse are lifelike in execution and finely detailed. The barrel breeches are a continuation of the bordered engraving with leaf and scroll work containing gold and silver inlays while the muzzles are scroll engraved. The fore end iron and release escutcheon are engraved and inlayed to match. All gold and silver work remains as 100% since completion. I cannot emphasize the attention to detail and skill that was used in creating this work of art. It is obvious that no expense was spared while building this treasure. The barrels retain the original vent ribs with twin beads. Barrel breeches, barrel flats, ejectors, Standing breech, water table and top of floor plate are all jeweled. The English walnut had been excellently fit into the scalloped frame, the checkering is about 34 LPI and contains flawless fleur-de-lis’ leafs and panels, the butt is checkered with leaves at the top and the grip is capped, the gold plate remains ready for your initials. Dimensions are 14 5/8” LOP 1 ½” DAC 2 3/8 DAH. All the work on this gun is exhibition in quality and would be very expensive to replicate. Pictures just dont due justice to this gun more photos avaliable Offered at $29,950.00 plus shipping and insurance
